Do you have a great idea for HBO’s next hit series? Let us help you transform your brilliant premise into a page-turning script! In this 5-week Online TV Drama Pilot Class, you’ll learn how to craft a great logline, structure a compelling story, plan a season arc that keeps the audience hooked, and break your pilot story just like they do in the writers’ room.

The instructor will show you how to dramatize and sprinkle in the right amount of plot, character and story for a one-hour show. Through in-class workshopping and pitching, you’ll clarify your tone, voice and world. By the end of this class, you will have created an outline for an irresistible TV Drama pilot.

Note: If you’ve never taken a TV writing class before, we strongly recommend you take TV 101 or TV Comedy 101, and TV Structure for Pilot Writing or TV Character Driven Stories or TV: Dialogue Bootcamp in addition to this class.

Note: This class will be offered outside, socially distanced in LA for vaccinated students. Or you can web conference in FOR FREE if you do not live in LA or are not vaccinated. Proof of vaccination will need to be shown at first class meeting. If you are web conferencing in, do not check any dates below UNLESS you need to purchase a recording.

Credit may be offered based on class availability. If you can’t come to class, call or email us as far in advance as possible. We will do everything we can to fill your spot, but we can’t make any guarantees. Credit eligibility is not based upon your reason for being unable to attend a class; it is based upon the timing of your credit request and our ability to fill your spot. If we find someone to take your place, you will receive class credit minus a $25 processing fee for 1 day classes and $50 processing fee for long classes. In that case, your class credit will be good for a year from the original sign up date and will expire after that. Otherwise, you will forfeit your payment/payments.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

This was THE BEST CLASS I ever took. Ryan is an excellent teacher. His passion and dedication to what he does is extremely contagions. At the end of each class none of us wanted to leave. Ryan always stayed after class to answer all our questions. We all felt very saddened that the class ended and suggested that he should also teach TV Drama II.
